# Connectors

> The banks, payment providers, custodians and files PanoQore connects your workspace to.

A connector is how money at a provider reaches your ledger. Each one says what PanoQore can do with that provider, how it hears that money moved, and where the money ends up.

Money at a provider is always mirrored on your ledger by a settlement account. Every credit a connector reports moves that account, so you can check the ledger against the provider at any time. See [Reconciliation](https://docs.panoqore.com/guides/reconciliation.md).

## Catalog

## Kinds

| `kind` | What it is |
| - | - |
| `BANK` | A bank or microfinance bank holding your customers' money, with account numbers you bind to wallets. |
| `PSP` | A payment provider that collects from payers and settles to your bank, net of its fees. |
| `CUSTODY` | A custodian holding digital assets in wallets or vaults. |
| `GENERIC` | Files you upload, or entries your own code posts. Works with any provider. |

## How a connector connects

| `connects` | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `LEDGER` | Your code talks to the provider and posts the results to PanoQore. |
| `FULL` | PanoQore calls the provider with your credentials. |
| `BOTH` | You choose, per provider. See [Integration modes](https://docs.panoqore.com/connectors/integration-modes.md). |

## Status

| `status` | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `AVAILABLE` | You can connect it now. |
| `BETA` | You can connect it, and it is still being proven. |
| `COMING` | Listed so you can plan. You cannot connect it yet. |

## Read the catalog

`GET /v1/connectors` lists every connector, and says which ones your workspace is connected to. It needs the `read` scope.

```bash theme={null}
curl "$PANOQORE_URL/v1/connectors/nomba" -H "Authorization: Bearer $PANOQORE_API_KEY"
```

```json theme={null}
{
  "id": "nomba",
  "name": "Nomba",
  "short": "NB",
  "kind": "BANK",
  "description": "Virtual NGN accounts at Nombank MFB, inward transfers and transaction history.",
  "connects": "BOTH",
  "status": "AVAILABLE",
  "currencies": ["NGN"],
  "events": "Signed webhooks, with an hourly history pull as a fallback",
  "settlesTo": "Your Nomba business account, mirrored as AST:SET:NGN:NMB",
  "before": [
    "A Nomba corporate account with API keys.",
    "A webhook signature key set on the Nomba dashboard, for full integration.",
    "An NGN ledger."
  ],
  "capabilities": [
    { "title": "Virtual accounts, opened by you and bound to wallets", "status": "YES" },
    { "title": "Payouts through payment orders", "status": "SOON", "when": "Payment orders" },
    { "title": "Currencies other than NGN", "status": "NO" }
  ],
  "connected": true,
  "using": "Full integration",
  "partner": "nomba"
}
```

The example shortens `capabilities`. Each capability's `status` is `YES`, `SOON` or `NO`.

`connected` and `using` describe your workspace. `using` is `Full integration` or `Ledger-only`.

## Your connections

`GET /v1/connections` lists where money enters or leaves your workspace, and how each connection is doing.

```bash theme={null}
curl "$PANOQORE_URL/v1/connections" -H "Authorization: Bearer $PANOQORE_API_KEY"
```

| Field | Meaning |
| - | - |
| `connector` | The catalog entry. |
| `mode` | `FULL` or `LEDGER_ONLY`. |
| `historyAccess` | How PanoQore gets statements: `NONE`, `READ_API` or `UPLOAD`. |
| `hasCredential` | Whether PanoQore holds credentials for this provider. |
| `namedAccounts` | How many account numbers are bound and active. |
| `settlement` | The settlement accounts that mirror the money at the provider. |
| `lastWebhookAt` | When the provider last sent a notice. |
| `lastPolledAt` | When PanoQore last pulled the provider's history. |
| `failingSince` | Set while the provider is not answering PanoQore. |

## Install a bank

An admin installs an available bank from its page in the console, under **Connections → Banks, PSPs and custody → Browse connectors**. It needs an active ledger in one of the bank's currencies, and starts ledger-only. See [Connecting a bank](https://docs.panoqore.com/connectors/connecting.md).

## Ask for a connector

If you need a bank, payment provider or custodian that is not listed, an admin can ask for it in the console, under **Connections → Browse connectors → Request a connector**. PanoQore answers in the console, and says whether it is planned.
