A tenant is either live or sandbox, and a key belongs to one. A test key works only on a sandbox tenant and a live key only on a live tenant. Any other pairing gets 401 UNAUTHENTICATED. GET /v1/tenant shows the environment. The API behaves the same in both, so what you build against a sandbox tenant carries over. A test key does not need the approval a live key with write scopes does.

Service status

GET /status needs no key. It answers with state, open or recent incidents, and planned maintenance. During maintenance, or while a tenant is paused, calls answer 503 with MAINTENANCE or TENANT_PAUSED. Retry writes with the same Idempotency-Key.
